Condyloma Treatment: A Detailed Introduction to Case Studies

This is a case of condyloma acuminatum about five months after onset.

Initially, treatment was attempted at a general urology clinic using Vaseline cream and liquid nitrogen, but there was no improvement, and the condition worsened to its current state.

The symptoms have spread over the entire glans and shaft of the penis.

Choosing a Treatment Method

For the glans, treatment is performed using a carbon dioxide laser. However, for condyloma on the foreskin, which is widespread and prone to recurrence due to tears in the foreskin, a "foreskin excision (circumcision)" is usually recommended.

In this case, at the patient's request, we performed laser treatment alone for both the glans and the shaft.

Post-Treatment State

After treatment, the area looks like it has been scraped, but it will epithelize over 2-3 weeks and the wound will heal completely.

However, since condyloma acuminatum is a disease prone to recurrence, it can recur during the healing process of the post-treatment wound.

By closely monitoring the postoperative course and repeating treatment at the time of recurrence, we aim for complete healing.

If recurrence persists with laser treatment alone, ultimately performing "foreskin excision (circumcision)" is possible.
